export quality

I wonder if any of you can help.

Im using a DC30 capture card and Premier and a 450 MHz PC. In the past exporting to Video worked fine (although the sound doesnt work for some reason - thats another story) The image quality was OK.
Just recently Ive almost finished an extremely complicated edit, about 30 minutes long. There are a hell of a lot of small cuts in this. When I export to tape the quality is terrible. For one or two moments (actually the slightly less edited scenes) it neatens up and looks fine, but the rest is very noisy.
Is this a problem with Premier and DC30 cards? or maybe my PC is too slow?
Has anyone seen this and knows whats wrong?

What sort of noisy?

Video snow? Would indicate VCR/tape

Codec artefacting? Would indicate export settings/drivers

Mad image flickering? Would indicate reverse field order

Are you using a template for the DC30?

have you made sure that the card is set to PAL (25fps) for the UK.

If you are exporting the whole movie to one file...make sure you are exporting an avi using the DC30 codec, not cinepak or indeo ect...look at you settings to see if they are ok!

What like is the captured clips when you play them in the source monitor ? It might be that they have been captured badly. Alternatively you may have changed the settings in the export window. Have you tried export make movie and played it through windows media player to see the quality.
I dont see why the size would degrade the image but you could try and make the purple bar in premiere shorter to just include short clips to see if the image sharpens up.
